What ecological or xeriscape landscaping practices do you have? How has your landscape changed from these practices?

Planting seeds and plants that are native to my area.  They will attract Bees and Birds to help with the season growth cycles in the Yard.   These Plants use less water and, in most cases, either can be 'split" at the end of the season or they "reseed" themself.   This will give me more time to relax and enjoy nature.

How can you express your personality, creativity, and values in ways that don't require fast fashion or buying more clothes and accessories?

I express my personality and creativity by wearing clothes that I have purchased used and gently worn.  I rotate my clothes by season which i can then wear what is applicable for the season.  Before I buy "new clothes" I send clothes I no longer wear to be "shared" by sending them to the local secondhand store.  I make sure the clothes are clean and can be actually worn by another user.   Clothes that are "business items" are sent to "My Sisters Closet" which is also shared.

Not perfect, but I managed a respectable percentage of completions.  Need to twist the arm of the BioPark folks to put together a team next time.

Met most of my goals but forgot to check in most days.

I joined because I am a leave no trace trainer for the Boy Scouts and I have always been interested in the environment.  I chose the actions I did because I work a lot but wanted to do something.  I learned a lot about equitable and sustainable food and cleaning items along with sustainable energy.  I helped my church lean up a 2 mile stretch of highway and we collected almost 15 bags of garbage of which about half could have been recycled.  I wanted to give back to future generations and my son who wants to go to college for geology/environmental science.

I have learned to be conscious of what needs to be used up in the refrigerator on in the cabinets. Also, I am learning to use herbs and spices effectively, to make food tasty that would otherwise be bland.

The killdeer birds that have been hanging out in the horse paddock decided not to build a nest there, apparently. They are ground-nesters, but I think the paddock was a bit too open.

I made a vegan spinach/mushroom lasagna tonight, with mashed extra firm tofu instead of ricotta cheese. Everything I make is an experiment; I rarely follow recipes. We shall see how this one turns out.

What are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time inside and on screens?
