REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth & EquityWhat is easy for you to do when having a constructive conversation and what is challenging? What tips do you have for having a constructive conversation?
Christine Martin 4/27/2022 6:46 AMI am new to the Clinic and part of a program that is being newly built. So constructive conversations are happening every day. There are so many resources on our intranet about having positive, constructive conversations, which I really appreciate. Just with so many other things in life, taking a moment and being mindful about what you are hearing and the perspective of the person you are talking to can be so beneficial. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBasic Needs & SecurityWith 5-minute or less showers reducing your water footprint, what do you plan to add next to your water conservation habits?
Christine Martin 4/26/2022 7:42 AMI did more research on water filtration options for my home, and settled on a Brita pitcher with a long last. Did you know that they have a long-last filter now that lasts six months instead of 2, and they are partnered with Terracycle to recycle used filters? It was great to read about! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBasic Needs & SecurityWho is affected by water insecurity in your region? How are they affected? How are you impacted by water insecurity?
Christine Martin 4/21/2022 7:57 AMIt is astonishing to think that 2 million people in the US are facing water insecurity! Clean water is something that we take for granted. I always knew clean water access was an issue in certain regions of the country as described in one of the links- rural areas particularly. I hadn't considered how many people locally (in a densely populated area) face similar access issues because of economic factors and water shut offs. With the greater Cleveland poverty rate being over 30% (according to one source I read), that must impact so many local people! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth & EquityWhat was surprising about the ingredients in your cleaning supplies, personal care, and pet products?
Christine Martin 4/18/2022 2:08 PMI need to start filtering my water! My city's zip code does not rate very well. I will try a Brita!-
Adam Moen 4/19/2022 6:42 AMBrita is a great idea! The company does a good job of being green with a large amount of their electricity being renewable and the are working on creating a smaller carbon footprint. The only downside is that I don't believe the filters are recyclable. So they still have ways to improve.
