My eco challenge has been very fun and informative. I was not active in anything prior to this so I’m glad that I was able to participate.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Basic Needs & Security Make Zero-Waste Meals
How did you incorporate using an entire vegetable (skins, peels, tops, and stalks) during one of your meal preps? What's something new you're going to try that is a zero-waste meal practice?

On a trip to Japan i enjoyed how everything was wrapped in plastic, so when I returned I wanted to use plastic for everything to be aesthetic. After moving away from my parents house I found that I was able to teach myself my own set of cooking.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Basic Needs & Security Take 5-Minute Or Less Showers
With 5-minute or less showers reducing your water footprint, what do you plan to add next to your water conservation habits?

I found that by taking shorter showers the more productive i was throughout my day because I stood by my goal. I normally take 40 minute showers and often feel guilty because of it. I am glad I chose this goal.

Education & Livelihood Learn More and Talk to My Friends
What was something you learned from your friends during Earth Month?

I believe that it was important to speak to my friends during earth month. I was able to get a lot of insight about our planet. My step father is a coal mine executive and because I lived with him I and followed his values I forgot about how it brings damage to our earth . By speaking to my peer instead of my family I feel as if I am taking responsibility for my actions and recycling something that I was not taught to do growing up.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Education & Livelihood Work-Life Balance
How does practicing a work-life balance create a more sustainable life for you? How might it contribute to sustainability more broadly?

I believe that a work life balance allows us to take a moment to reflect instead of doing without thinking, this allows us to open ourselves to the world, and not be angry or stressed by it.
