REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth & Equity Learn About Participation and RepresentationWhat are some of the barriers that exist to women and girl's equitable participation or representation in your community? Do you experience these barriers?
Jewel Cook 4/27/2022 10:24 AMThere are many barriers that women and girl's face in our communities and workplace. The one that I found the most interesting in my research was menstrual periods and pain. Starting from elementary sex ed. boys and girls are separated creating a stigma surrounding the periods and pain associated with it. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEconomy & Communities Online Energy AuditWhat most interested or surprised you about your energy audit?
Jewel Cook 4/26/2022 5:07 AMLiving in an apartment it is difficult to have a full grasp on my energy use. I think it would be immensely beneficial if apartment buildings were more transparent about their overall energy use and how tenants can reduce consumption.-
Pam McCormick 4/26/2022 5:22 AMI agree. With the current rental market, as I was trying to find a new place to live at an affordable price I felt conflicted about choosing based on environmental impact vs personal spend. I also hesitated to ask when touring, because it’s such a lessor’s market and didn’t want to disqualify myself by asking certain questions. Makes me pause and ponder what my true priorities are and if others are going through similar situations.
