Why is art an important way for you to express sustainability values?

    What have we done?
    It will impact our son.
    The earth weeps.
We still have time to make a leap.
    To rectify what we reaped.
    Do not sleep.
    The time is now.
    We still can plow,
    so that we can endow.

Another walk, another bloom. I thought the color of these tulips were gorgeous and to be honest, the iphone does not capture their true color. Nature needs to be protected by us!

What was it like to create a readiness plan? Did you find other resources you could share?

Again, another easy google search identified numerous templates for a household readiness plan. I showed my husband who was shocked these existed. We started to fill it out and will commit to complete this weekend.

What most interested or surprised you about your energy audit?

My husband manages commercial property and while we were not able to get the audit done before eco challenge ended, I am very excited to hear the results and how they will compare to the different properties. So many operational costs and they keep increasing, this is a smart way to potentially reduce those while reducing our carbon footprint as well.

Do you have any tips for others on finding locations that accept products for safe disposal?

I was relieved to see it was not difficult to find guides for disposing hazardous waste. Years ago this info would not be easy to locate and even last year I remember struggling a bit. This year a quick google search populated what seemed to be infinite info on topic. I liked Glad's comprehensive guide. Quick and to the point! It is divided by toxic, ignitable, reactive and corrosive. There's some good info on do's and dont's and it is not an overwhelming read. I don't anitipipate I will always remember how to

It posted before I finished, I was planning on saying I don't believe I'd remember how to dispose for each category, but these guides are not going anyway, so it's reassuring to know I will be able to find when I need and I will spread the word to friends and family how easy it is to do the right thing for our environment.

During our trip this past weekend my friends enjoyed the natural beauty of the park so much so we documented with a group photo! Just look at those spring buds behind us, the colors frame out our photo opp so well!

Everyday I make an effort to reduce the amount of waste that goes into a landfill. Over the past 8 months, I've had a lot of success posting items on Freecycle.org. You can communicate directly within the platform and not give out your personal email. This month alone, I have given away 5 items using this platform! Here is the link for those interested: Freecycle: Front Door

I downloaded the Red Cross Emergency Contact Card and provided a copy to my mom and dad so they can post it on their fridge (and keep one in their wallet/car). I will also post one on my fridge in my new home. If anyone wants the file, please send me an email! It's also attached here - hopefully you can access it.

I'm very pillaged to live so close to the Mitchell Museum of the American Indian. I want to take my niece and nephews there next time they are in town.

I was visiting friends in NJ this past weekend and I asked to stop in the park across the street for a bit to get my walk in...turned out to be a lovely time enjoying the fresh air and conversation. Spring is such a great time to reset and appreciate the beauty of our earth, everything is starting to bloom...it's like summer has a bow on it!
