I need this balance to help nourish my body/mind with the rest and fuel it needs to ensure i'm not living in a fight/flight mode all the time as i was working all the time.

When I started paying attention to how long my showers were and how much packaging my meals were using - it was eye opening for me so those were the two daily actions I really honed in on. Before I was always taking my own bags to the grocery store, but not being as judicious when it came to produce bags - but now I bring my own produce bags...

I realized that most of my single-use plastics come from packaging from online purchases and takeout food orders. When you ask for items (like salad dressing) on the side, it adds another piece of plastic to the meal. So instead, you can order it as is. I have been conscious about using reusable straws for a while, but it's important to keep...

As part of the Ecochallenge, I committed to volunteering in my local community. I volunteer every week with Everybody Wins DC -- a youth literacy nonprofit. I am a reading tutor for a second grade student, and it's amazing to watch her develop a love for reading and confidence in reading more challenging books! For Earth month, we'll be reading...

I've curbed my use of plastic wrap by swapping it with beeswax wrap. I also bought a set of travel bamboo cutlery that I keep in my purse at all times so that I can avoid single-use plastic utensils when I'm out!
