By far this was the hardest of challenges as I felt all the easier ones I took and did in the past, everything I have now is more thought provoking and hard challenges and over time I feel I can get better at them.

What is one way you will reduce your water use? What is a practice you already have that helps you reduce your water use?

This also was quite hard to do and I don't feel the work is fully done here.

With 5-minute or less showers reducing your water footprint, what do you plan to add next to your water conservation habits?

I felt this would be easy to do, on the contrary I found days where I will ponder on a thought and take more time. I eventually got good at it. It still is an effort.

Why is it important to take care of pollinators? Do you have a favorite pollinator?

Pollinators maintain a lot of resources that we as humans, as well as other animals need for survival (food, habitat, etc). Bats are my favorite pollinators.

Equity is important for everyone. I thank the folks responsible for the ecochallenge. I learned a lot from the resources provided.

What are some of the barriers that exist to women and girl's equitable participation or representation in your community? Do you experience these barriers?

I've seen barriers with my children. My 5 year old daughter is called bossy, when my 7 year old son exhibits the same behaviors and no one makes comments about him.

I love the ecochallenge - I learn something new each year and am able to create lasting habits.

What was it like to practice mindfulness? If this is a practice for you already, what was something new you understood in practicing during Earth Month?

I usually have a difficult time practicing mindfulness as my mind races and constantly thinks about all the things that I have to do.  I have slowly been able to clear my mind a little more to allow myself to relax.  It is still a work in progress.

What was it like to create a readiness plan? Did you find other resources you could share?

It was truly an insightful experience. It is amazing to learn the vulnerabilities you have in your home when you coordinate a readiness plan. I found a number of resources, including habitat.org, redcross.org, militaryonesource.mil and cdc.org (to name a few). I highly recommend EVERYONE do this as you never know when SHTF and you don't want to be wasting precious moments trying to figure out what to do.
