Why is it important to take care of pollinators? Do you have a favorite pollinator?

We have our own little wild bees at home. They are of course my favorites. They are solitary bees and they don‘t sting.
I love to watch them, when they are busy collecting food for their „babies“.
Of course I try to keep all those important plants on my balcony so they don‘t habe to fly too far.

we visited the western part of Switzerland. it is only 2 hours drive from our home but it feels like abroad (they speak french, so obviously already the language makes you feel in a different place).
We had a wonderful time there and although we only spent a weekend there it felt like a long holiday (without the hassle of flying or driving for hours :-))

What is one invasive species in your region and how does it impact your region's ecosystem?

many invasive species are brought in through our gardens. They look nice, have nice flowers, but they are mostly useless for the local bees and they push away local species.
the question of course when you call it an invasive species as many species have been introduces hundreds of years ago, so are they still called invasive?
Interesting to read that the Quagga shell came in via boats and is now a problem in our waters.

After learning more about investing, how can you increase positive impacts and decrease negative impacts?

The measurement of the impact remains a challenge. Also in a traditional investment set-up you need an exit possibility if things don't go the way you think, however if you want to have an impact this is a lot about long term commitment and often investor don't want to stay in for that long, so there has to be a balance between the two to be successful.

I am taking on the Kerry Challenge in aid of Debra Ireland to support the 300 people living with EB across Ireland. This involves 3 days of hiking the wild Kerry terrain in Dingle.  Please visit my page www.idonate.ie/fundraiser/11431443
Great for mental health and work life balance all in a good cause!

What is one way you will reduce your water use? What is a practice you already have that helps you reduce your water use?

most of my water footprint is actually composed of "grey" water, so not water I directly use but is used to i.e. produce the food I eat.
Less meat, local, and seasonal is also important when it comes to water usage.

Leaving the reflection question, whilst going though number of articles and googling further, I ran into an article from 2019 on safety measures in cars and how they better protect men than women.

Would never have assumed inequality on this topic....... One learns!
