    Reuse household goods. Recycle items. Avoid the need to buy everything NEW.

    My goal is to reduce my reliance on electricity, unplug or remove all unnecessary electrical devices, and change my habits to accommodate greater usage at non-peak hours.

      This is also known as phantom load! I have found using special plug timers that don't draw load are a great way to save some electricity.  Another way is waiting till later in the night to do your laundry!
