Shawna Troyer 4/20/2022 7:55 PMHappy Earth Day! Total coincidence but my boss planned our first ever team event/meet in person since March 2020. Half of our team, including our boss, is new since the pandemic and we've never met face to face. Though only 1/3 (or less) of our team actually showed. It was after hours, and a bit chilly out still. We had a potluck in the park. With biodegradable plates. -
Shawna Troyer 4/15/2022 2:07 PMEid isn't until 5/2... it's been a long work day/week/years. -
Shawna Troyer 4/15/2022 2:07 PMHappy Easter! (and Eid Mubarak) Hope everyone gets to enjoy the weekend -
Shawna Troyer 4/14/2022 5:37 AMApril 30th is National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. My city, Spokane WA, COPS Northwest is having a drive-thru event to drop off unwanted medications. No needles, but vaping devices accepted without batteries. Free Narcan kits on first come/first serve basis. Also free medication lock boxes for the first 50 people. Check your local area in case other groups are doing similar. Though any I get rid of will just be dropped at WalGreen's as they are 1 block away and have a medical disposal bin in the pharmacy.
-
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth & EquityDo you have any tips for others on finding locations that accept products for safe disposal?
Shawna Troyer 4/14/2022 5:34 AMWalGreen's has a medical disposal bin in their pharmacy, at least my local one does. -
Shawna Troyer 4/07/2022 5:47 AMDress for success! Wearing workout clothes today so there's one less excuse for getting outside, going to the gym, walking in a park, etc. And I'm going to attempt my new plan of setting a 10 minute timer to make sure I take a few breaks from work during the day to walk, meditate/mindfulness, etc. Also I shared my work's earth-week link, and the Eco-challenge link, with my coworkers.
-
Shawna Troyer 4/05/2022 5:09 AMSince I do the ecochallenge on my work computer: I never post on weekends. I'm trying to break my workaholic, stressed because there's just SO MUCH WORK to do during the week, never take the breaks I'm supposed to/entitled to bad habits. It's so very hard because (waives hands at everything). Today... I'm setting a 10 minute timer and making sure i take a walk outside, and practice mindfulness, during my workday. -
Shawna Troyer 4/01/2022 1:17 PMChecked my monthly goals off... now to start learning and doing. -
Shawna Troyer 4/01/2022 12:38 PMHello, everyone! I've been participating in EcoChallenge for a number of years - first because my company promoted it, and later just because I like "doing, participating, volunteering" and learning ways I can improve.
