  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Climate & Ecosystems
What is one invasive species in your region and how does it impact your region's ecosystem?

Ambrosia - it has been introduce to Europe from North America, has gained a lot of presence in Romania over the past 40 years.  The negative impact is manifested especially on human health. The pollen of this plant is a strong allergen, causing the necessary protection, requires permanent monitoring and immediate elimination.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Economy & Communities
Why do you think it is important to eat less meat?

    Iulia Trif's avatar
    Iulia Trif 4/29/2022 9:34 AM
I believe being mindful of where the meat is coming from - how it's produced, what gets used in the process and the impact of that to the environment is more important than the actual quantity. So I would say make less negative impact by what meat you do choose to eat.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Basic Needs & Security
What is one way you will reduce your water use? What is a practice you already have that helps you reduce your water use?

    Iulia Trif's avatar
    Iulia Trif 4/29/2022 9:32 AM
Shorter showers, not leaving the water running when it serves no purpose (while washing dishes, while brushing teeth), running less laundry washes by sorting out clothes better and to the max of the washing machine capacity - small things, but I was surprised to see to how much they add up in the end
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health & Equity
What is easy for you to do when having a constructive conversation and what is challenging? What tips do you have for having a constructive conversation?

    Iulia Trif's avatar
    Iulia Trif 4/29/2022 9:28 AM
Constructive conversations are seldom easy for an assertive personality - listen before you talk, with open mind and heart, think before you speak (of the audience, of the desired result, of the impact of your words), acknowledge it's not about being right or having the upper hand, do better next time when you missed those checks
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health & Equity
What are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time inside and on screens?

    Iulia Trif's avatar
    Iulia Trif 4/29/2022 9:25 AM
All aspects of health (physical and mental) can be helped via decreasing screen time in a sited position in favour of moving, focusing on elements outside that help decrease stress and just being aware of palpable small things to bring every day joy and awareness. The social element and interaction that is not virtual is also differently layered and with more depth.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health & Equity
What was it like to practice mindfulness? If this is a practice for you already, what was something new you understood in practicing during Earth Month?

    Iulia Trif's avatar
    Iulia Trif 4/29/2022 7:42 AM
Mindfulness was not something I practiced before the pandemic - I have found it helped substantially with lowering stress levels across the day and "centering" / focus, so Earth Month was a good opportunity do make it into daily practice.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Basic Needs & Security
What was the tastiest meatless or vegan meal you ever had or had recently? Did you make it? Can you share a recipe?

    Iulia Trif's avatar
    Iulia Trif 4/29/2022 7:35 AM
Home made Spaghetti Bolognese with jack fruit instead of the meat - I actually enjoyed it better than the standard version
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Basic Needs & Security
With 5-minute or less showers reducing your water footprint, what do you plan to add next to your water conservation habits?

    Iulia Trif's avatar
    Iulia Trif 4/29/2022 7:33 AM
This exercise has made me more aware of small possible changes - don't run the tap while brushing teeth / don't leave the water running all through washing the dishes. Small things, but when adding up, significant impact.
