REFLECTION QUESTIONEconomy & CommunitiesWould you consider using an induction cooking surface? If you have used one before, what do you like about induction cooking?
Ivana Tough 4/29/2022 7:42 AMI prefer induction cooking if only because I am chicken to use a gas oven. Conveniently enough, my induction stove is more time efficient and that's a good enough excuse for me! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEconomy & CommunitiesWhat most interested or surprised you about your energy audit?
Ivana Tough 4/29/2022 7:41 AMI did some research on Hydro Quebec's website to get a more accurate reading of my energy consumption and I was surprised to see the drastic effect of changing my old washing machine & drier to new energy efficient ones! -
Ivana Tough 4/28/2022 6:38 AMI watched 'Eating our way to extinction' on Prime video last week and it really tied in several elements from SDG #14 LIFE BELOW WATER & SDG #2 ZERO HUNGER.
I was surprised to see how shocked my partner was while watching it; I recommend trying it out. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONClimate & EcosystemsWhat was the tastiest sustainable seafood meal you ever had or had recently? Did you make it? Can you share a recipe?
Ivana Tough 4/28/2022 6:33 AMThe tastiest sustainable seafood meal I ever had was out in Pictou county, Nova Scotia. I've tried to reproduce the recipe at home with seasonings I got out there but it never turns out the same! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONClimate & EcosystemsWhat tables did you visit? What did you learn?
Ivana Tough 4/27/2022 7:15 AMI had a great time chatting with Rick while he was explaining what type of tomato plant I was able to take home! -
Ivana Tough 4/20/2022 11:05 AMOff topic but I found this thread on "internalized misogyny; the unconscious bias and beliefs we perpetuate about women or feminized folks" quite eye-opening
https://www.instagram.com/p/Cci8ngcJjzZ/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y
It is broken down quite maybe someone else might find it beneficial to read about as well-
Melissa Tomecz 4/20/2022 1:14 PMThis is not off topic! It is a wonderful lesson/reminder for everyone. This would work under SDG#5: Gender Equality. Thanks for sharing, Ivana :)

REFLECTION QUESTIONBasic Needs & SecurityWhat benefits does the sharing economy offer to you and others? If you are a little shy to try, what could be a first step for you?
Ivana Tough 4/20/2022 10:59 AMThere are so many benefits to the sharing economy whether it be in the office (chip o'clock!) or borrowing items that I will only need to use a handful of times (a 16 foot tall ladder that my neighbour already has.) It works out to be economical in one way or another and fosters a wholesome sense of community. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth & EquityWhat was a linking factor across this group of SDGs?
Ivana Tough 4/13/2022 6:18 AMThese infographics are a game-changer in terms of being able to absorb the information clearly. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBasic Needs & SecurityWhat is one way you will reduce your water use? What is a practice you already have that helps you reduce your water use?
Ivana Tough 4/13/2022 6:11 AMI am so grateful for all the times my parents would nag about turning off the faucets when running water was not required - I am fortunate to have the opportunity to let the tradition live on in my home as well! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth & EquityWhat was it like to practice mindfulness? If this is a practice for you already, what was something new you understood in practicing during Earth Month?
Ivana Tough 4/11/2022 6:13 AMI have gotten into the habit of practicing mindfulness every morning while waking up. It serves as a good reminder to start the day off with the right attitude!
