Michelle Tompkins 4/12/2022 9:36 AMGood morning, team! Anyone with kids at home, wondering how to talk with your kids about climate change? My good friend Mary DeMocker contributed to the ezine Hothouse, a letter to parents with advice: Dear Kids 💌 🌏 - by Michael Coren and Cadence Bambenek (substack.com). Hothouse is also a great resource with ideas on how to take action.-
Brian Nelson (SSC) 4/12/2022 11:34 AMVery cool! Kids'll be the next caretakers...it'll be up to them to deal with what we adults have created.

Michelle Tompkins 4/11/2022 4:06 PMI still see single use plastic at PeaceHealth: does anyone know if we can eliminate this from our facilities?-
James Howard (SW) 4/11/2022 10:21 PM -
Brian Nelson (SSC) 4/11/2022 5:10 PMWe're in a constant effort to eliminate these where we can - it's a nuanced balance between safety, infection prevention, care provider preference, and manufacturers who struggle with knowing that an item marked as single-use doesn't mean it can't be used more if they go through the many hoops to certify that it can be used multiple times through various reprocessing steps. From a non-clinical perspective, we're constantly looking at even small items like straws to look for ways to either reduce, recycle, and replace altogether. Send me a separate note if you have questions about specific items - we're always looking for new opportunities. :)
