REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth & Equity Learn About The Health & Equity SDGsWhat was a linking factor across this group of SDGs?
Chrissy Snider 4/26/2022 12:29 PMIf bribery is 5 times more likely in low income countries than in high income countries, I feel like the U.S. must fall into that low income country category. Bribery runs things, especially in our government where lobbyists legally buy politicians every day. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONClimate & Ecosystems Learn About Invasive SpeciesWhat is one invasive species in your region and how does it impact your region's ecosystem?
Chrissy Snider 4/25/2022 11:51 AMWhile stinkbugs have no known adverse affects on the ecosystem, they are massive pests. I had no idea they were not native to the region and considered an invasive species. Cats, I did know about although I didn't know their origin. Feral cats and "outdoor" cats have destroyed something like 60 species of native bird populations. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONClimate & Ecosystems Support Local PollinatorsWhy is it important to take care of pollinators? Do you have a favorite pollinator?
Chrissy Snider 4/14/2022 11:28 AMPollinators aid our food supply and the health of the ecosystems that clean the air and help wildlife. I didn't realize that butterflies, beetles, birds and flies are all considered pollinators. Bumble bees and butterflies are my favorites. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONClimate & Ecosystems Reduce Single-Use PlasticsWhat plastic or single-use items do you regularly use? What did you substitute or could be substituted?
Chrissy Snider 4/07/2022 12:51 PMI actually don't use a lot of single use plastic. Today, I had soup for lunch. The container was plastic which just makes me wish that there were more recycling options here at work. Had I been at home, I would have rinsed it, cut the label off and placed it with my recycling. -
Chrissy Snider 4/05/2022 1:25 PMHi, my name is Chrissy. I'm always looking for ways to help our environment and just generally use more sustainable products and reduce waste. Challenges are a great place to get started.
