Messed around and made a fatty pot of vegetarian chili last night. Gotta say, it was pretty damned good. And Now I'm going to be eating veggie chili for the rest of the week, so really cutting down on the meat/ carbon footprint this week lol

I failed at my attempts to eat one vegetarian meal per day yesterday. I had every intention of doing so, but didn't get to the store after work to buy some meatless chicken nuggets. Instead I ordered chicken wings for dinner. This is proving to be challenging, but I am still working hard to get it done! Never give up, Never Surrender!

Please take the time to dig in and learn some things, not just about our planet, but about yourself! This really has been a great tool for introspection.

Ok, something I have had to come to terms with while doing this challenge is my meat consumption. It seems to be my single largest drain on our resources... by a fucking mile. As much as I hate the idea of having MULTIPLE meals per week that are completely meatless, I realize that for my own health, and Earth's I have to step up. I will be starting to eat 1 meal per day that is vegetarian, and working towards fully vegan. I hope this will have a positive affect on my carbon footprint and waist line lol. I will be posting each day what that meal consists of, along with a pic for proof

Do you have any tips for others on finding locations that accept products for safe disposal?

    Justin Smith's avatar
    Justin Smith 4/12/2022 9:35 PM
The dump! I have disposed of many harmful products that can be harmful to our planet if not properly disposed of. It's free and it may take a few minutes, but it is well worth the wait!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

How might you be able to get others involved in advocating for the clean energy shift?

The main way I am involved in clean energy is by making sure the energy I buy for my home is of the clean and sustainable variety. I was able to easily set that up when I signed up for service with SMUD. I often tell others of this program and try to impress upon them why it is worth the extra cost.
