Samuel Shapiro 4/07/2022 4:29 AMI finally remembered my lunchbox! I always have my reusable coffee bottle, water bottle, and smoothie bottle! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBasic Needs & SecurityWith 5-minute or less showers reducing your water footprint, what do you plan to add next to your water conservation habits?
Samuel Shapiro 4/07/2022 4:26 AMI think washing dishes would be a good spot. I've heard for a longtime that if you fill a dishwasher it is more efficient than doing dishes by hand. I kind of want to know if this is actually true. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBasic Needs & SecurityWhat was the tastiest meatless or vegan meal you ever had or had recently? Did you make it? Can you share a recipe?
Samuel Shapiro 4/06/2022 8:35 AMI love taking the watercress salad at work and adding onto it things like olives, artichokes, cucumbers, and other tasty treats! -
Samuel Shapiro 4/06/2022 5:27 AMGrabbed some extra sleep last night and made sure to take a mindful moment after I finished making my coffee! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth & EquityWhat was it like to practice mindfulness? If this is a practice for you already, what was something new you understood in practicing during Earth Month?
Samuel Shapiro 4/06/2022 5:18 AMIt varies day to day but often involves very intentional physically breathing or observation and awareness based learning. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth & EquityWhat are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time inside and on screens?
Samuel Shapiro 4/06/2022 5:17 AMOne of my favorite things to do outside is to just sit on one place by myself and think or read or journal. I think that when you reduce artificial sensory input and movement it allows you to really focus on the space you are in. What do you hear? What do you see? What is the ebb and flow to the energy and activity of the space. You lose so much when you stick in those earbuds. -
Samuel Shapiro 4/06/2022 5:14 AMThis has always been pretty easy with my breakfasts as I'm normally a smoothie and/or oatmeal/muesli person, be the added component that I'm going to pick up for this is finding an alternative to the bagels with cream cheese that I normally eat when I get to work. The bagels are wrapped in cellophane, the cheese is in plastic single serving cups, and the knives are plastic, disposable, and wrapped!
