It's important to honor all cultures, but we especially need to honor the original settlers of our country/land. I would like to reach out to my native and indigenous friends to see how I can get to know more about their culture.

I have not applied ecological or xeriscape landscaping practices into my life yet since I live in a small apartment with no yard but I'm looking to move into a house and want to apply what I learned to the bigger space.

This was so sad to read about. I am generally grateful for what I have, but reading about poverty, hungry and lack of access to resources reminded me to take a breath and be more appreciative.

I pay Pacific Gas & Electric and I always though my energy came from Northern California. Turns out, it comes from a gas turbine power plant in Southern California. My area provides that area water. Nice trade-off? Maybe.

Artichoke Thistle. Artichoke thistle, which is the wild form of the cultivated artichoke, is a noxious weed found in Contra Costa County. It invades rangeland and wild areas. I had no idea!
