REFLECTION QUESTIONEducation & LivelihoodWhat was it like to actively listen to someone? How did both people and the conversation benefit from active listening?
Mariah Rosado 4/11/2022 1:18 PMRecently I was listening to a friend complain that they've had trouble hiring "good employees" at their company. I was about to make suggestions but stopped and instead asked some clarifying questions, and learned a lot more about their issues. Because of active listening and clarifying, I was able to offer suggestions that were actually applicable and useful instead of what I would have rushed to suggest before learning more. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEducation & LivelihoodHow does practicing a work-life balance create a more sustainable life for you? How might it contribute to sustainability more broadly?
Mariah Rosado 4/11/2022 1:15 PMPracticing work-life balance helps minimize and even prevent burnout -- burnout can lead to physical health issues! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBasic Needs & SecurityWhat benefits does the sharing economy offer to you and others? If you are a little shy to try, what could be a first step for you?
Mariah Rosado 4/07/2022 6:11 PMThe sharing economy is basically how I refresh my wardrobe! Instead of always buying new clothes, my friends and I often give each other our hand-me-downs. Once everyone in the group has gone through the pile of clothes, we donate whatever is left over. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth & EquityDo you have any tips for others on finding locations that accept products for safe disposal?
Mariah Rosado 4/07/2022 6:10 PMI was prescribed an addictive medication after a surgery and I was worried about correctly disposing of the extra pills I had. I went to my local pharmacy and learned that many pharmacies and hospitals have dedicated medication disposal boxes! Also, depending on the medication there are multiple options for at-home disposal.
