  • REFLECTION QUESTION

With 5-minute or less showers reducing your water footprint, what do you plan to add next to your water conservation habits?

I shower every other day now that I work from home, so staying under 5 min/day is a breeze!  My showers aren't long to begin with - get in, get 'er done, get out.  And washing my face on non-shower days is less than a minute.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Basic Needs & Security
What is one way you will reduce your water use? What is a practice you already have that helps you reduce your water use?

I was pleased to learn that I was under the average for water use, however, the virtual questions opened my eyes to some heavy water consumers ... pet food!!!  However, my 3 furry children will not go hungry.

I was also surprised about the pet food! I am curious to learn about which pet foods may have a smaller footprint. Julie has shared some vegan food options for pets that I am curious to test with my picky pup. :)

    Education & Livelihood
What was a linking factor across this group of SDGs?

Providing children with a safe route to school is instrumental to facilitate learning for a better future.  Providing real-life role models of what can be achieved through education and hard work, whether male or female, can be a huge incentive to "dream big" for otherwise limited-scope cultures (Rwanda, for example).

Sharing elbow grease and knowledge to better a community across the world incorporates so many benefits, though the most rewarding may be what we get in return by sharing the experience with locals and others.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Basic Needs & Security
How did you incorporate using an entire vegetable (skins, peels, tops, and stalks) during one of your meal preps? What's something new you're going to try that is a zero-waste meal practice?

I will inventory my freezers and prepare meal plans to use items based on how long they've been frozen.  If meat or diced veggies are old (freezer burnt), I'll prepare doggie stew for my pup so it doesn't go to waste!
