  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Education & Livelihood
Do you think many people flooding their inbox will get the STM's attention? How did you feel expressing your dissatisfaction?

    Stesha Ong's avatar
    Stesha Ong 4/28/2022 7:48 PM
Yes, I think it would help them realise how many people need them to change and that there is popular demand for it. It felt great expressing my dissatisfaction because at least I did something about it by complaining directly to them and not regretting not taking action.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Education & Livelihood
What do you enjoy about supporting others who are learning?

    Stesha Ong's avatar
    Stesha Ong 4/28/2022 7:45 PM
I enjoy when people understand what you explain because it gives you a sense of accomplishment and that you know the topic well. It is also makes me happy when others are happy and it leaves me with a satisfactory feeling knowing that I have helped someone with what I know and that I can put to use what I have learnt.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health & Equity
What are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time inside and on screens?

    Stesha Ong's avatar
    Stesha Ong 4/28/2022 7:44 PM
Firstly, there would be health disadvantages of doing that because humans are not built to not move around. Furthermore, their social life is also impacted because they are always inside it us sometimes harder to bond with people as compared to gatherings.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Economy & Communities
How can you express your personality, creativity, and values in ways that don't require fast fashion or buying more clothes and accessories?

    Stesha Ong's avatar
    Stesha Ong 4/28/2022 7:41 PM
I think thrifting for clothes would be one of the best options for sustainable clothing and giving out hand me downs that people would want to wear and also receiving hand me downs. Another way would be making or altering the clothes you have yourself to add in more creativity and to make things last faster.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Education & Livelihood
Do you believe signing the Accord will bring about change?

    Stesha Ong's avatar
    Stesha Ong 4/27/2022 11:20 PM
Yes. I believe that if there are a lot of students who agree on the same thing I believe change can be made!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Climate & Ecosystems
What tables did you visit? What did you learn?

    Stesha Ong's avatar
    Stesha Ong 4/27/2022 11:13 PM
I helped set up the SDG booth and I also made some seed bombs which was a new skill I learnt. I learnt more about the SDGS which was also very interesting. Unfortunately, I could not stay there long because I had class.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health & Equity
Why is equity for gender diverse individuals important for a just and sustainable society?

    Stesha Ong's avatar
    Stesha Ong 4/27/2022 11:12 PM
Equity for gender diverse individuals is important so that everybody is included and what they say is not taken with a biased perspective. Especially so that ideas are also not overlooked and plagiarised later on. This is also to promote cooperation between anyone to work towards our climate goals because cooperation plays a big factor in it and if we cannot be respectable to others how are we to work together?
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Basic Needs & Security
What is one way you will reduce your water use? What is a practice you already have that helps you reduce your water use?

    Stesha Ong's avatar
    Stesha Ong 4/15/2022 2:33 PM
Recently, I cut my hair really short and I found that I use much less water to wash my hair now which I found very helpful and a immediate way of reducing my water use. Another way I can reduce my water use is to take lesser time washing my body and not shower singing while the water is running🤣🤣
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Climate & Ecosystems
What is one way you will reduce your carbon foorprint? What is a practice you already have that helps you reduce your carbon footprint?

    Stesha Ong's avatar
    Stesha Ong 4/15/2022 2:30 PM
I will try not to shop as much because majority of my footprint comes from buying clothes especially. I think I will try going thrifting more often instead of buying completely new things and to help not buy too much fast fashion. Something that I already do is to always close my lights when nobody is in the room and to also always unplug my electronics when it is not in use to reduce the amount of electricity I use.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Education & Livelihood
What was something you learned from your friends during Earth Month?

    Stesha Ong's avatar
    Stesha Ong 4/09/2022 12:12 PM
I learned that they share the same mentality as me in terms of the urgency of climate change. I also learnt some new ways of thinking about climate change and we also all agreed and will go ask for governmental change and "gang up" with each other.🤣🤣
