REFLECTION QUESTIONEconomy & CommunitiesWhat are the climate and disaster risks in your region?
Ray Moore 4/20/2022 9:43 AMWell, we do still have an active volcano in our backyard that many in this area remember the disasters it created in 1980. Today's threats are mostly flooding. We've had both lanes of I-5 close twice in the last decade in Chehalis, & there are sections of the coastline that are tsunami zones. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEconomy & CommunitiesWhat was it like to mend your clothing? If you are skilled at mending, what tips do you have for others?
Ray Moore 4/18/2022 9:12 AMIn the last month, I've repaired a button on my shirt, a rivet on the cuff of my wife's shirt (both successfully), and made a zipper worse on one of my "grubby" coats. Still needing to figure out the last one. Recommendation for others is to treat mending as puzzle to be solved, with creative solutions being OK. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEconomy & CommunitiesWould you consider using an induction cooking surface? If you have used one before, what do you like about induction cooking?
Ray Moore 4/18/2022 8:59 AMConsidered, but I still don't know anyone that has committed to one, so didn't pursue last time a new range was needed. I would prefer to use one before investing, and not needing to buy an oven at this time.-
Brian Nelson (SSC) 4/18/2022 9:46 AMSuggest getting one of the single-eye ones to play with...you'll need pans with conductive material in them (stick a magnet on the bottom to check it). It's definitely the future, I say. :)

REFLECTION QUESTIONEconomy & CommunitiesWhat was a linking factor across this group of SDGs?
Ray Moore 4/18/2022 8:47 AMNot sure I agree with all, but linking factor appears to be that primary energy resources can vary significantly globally. Over 750 million people don't have access to electricity, and 75% of those live on the African continent.-
