How have you reduced your purchasing habits and what would you like to do next to reduce your consumption habits?

I have stopped shopping with amazon and researching more sustainable grocery stores to shop from. I have been attempting to repurpose old items in my home to save them from the landfill
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Education & Livelihood
How does practicing a work-life balance create a more sustainable life for you? How might it contribute to sustainability more broadly?

It causes me to slow down and think about what i can do in my free time to live more sustainably
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Basic Needs & Security
With 5-minute or less showers reducing your water footprint, what do you plan to add next to your water conservation habits?

    Nerise Melarkey 4/15/2022 2:36 PM
Definitely only using the amount of water that I will actually use for coffee and tea. I usually make too much coffee and end up tossing it out so being more mindful of that could help my water waste.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Basic Needs & Security
How did you incorporate using an entire vegetable (skins, peels, tops, and stalks) during one of your meal preps? What's something new you're going to try that is a zero-waste meal practice?

After I made my stir fry (with bulk rice that I found in a health store, no packaging) I took the vegetable rinds and put them into a compost for my patio garden.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health & Equity
What are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time inside and on screens?

    Nerise Melarkey's avatar
    Nerise Melarkey 4/13/2022 4:49 PM
I think when people spend more time inside we appreciate nature less and become more disconnected from the outside world
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Basic Needs & Security
What is one way you will reduce your water use? What is a practice you already have that helps you reduce your water use?

I will take shorter showers and turn the water off when i wash my face and brush my teeth
