I'm really enjoying learning new things about Sustainable products. I'm also loving being involved in promoting greener Earth and planting seedlings. I've over the last week planted around 10 plants. 4 Hibiscus, 3 Roses and 3 Summer shrubs called Kochia. I'm all for more greenery, lesser climate damage and more Oxygen.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health & Equity
Why is equity for gender diverse individuals important for a just and sustainable society?

    Ruchi MehrotraDutta's avatar
    Ruchi MehrotraDutta 4/15/2022 12:18 AM
Equality for gender diverse individuals becomes important just for the simple fact, no man or woman should get left behind. We are all equals. We each have 2 eyes, ears, hands, legs. If God made us equal, who are we to distinguish.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Economy & Communities
How might you be able to get others involved in advocating for the clean energy shift?

    Ruchi MehrotraDutta's avatar
    Ruchi MehrotraDutta 4/15/2022 12:16 AM
Start a campaign in my local area to get people to start using sustainable energy.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Climate & Ecosystems
What area of climate action are you most passionate about and why?

    Ruchi MehrotraDutta's avatar
    Ruchi MehrotraDutta 4/11/2022 8:54 PM
Deforestation. The reason for the climate change is because the trees are being cut everywhere. Every city needs to have demarcated green areas which are preserved. Otherwise we are looking at the planet becoming a desert.

Yes, preservation and reforestation are critical! Have you heard about the work the non-profit organization TreeSisters is doing to replant trees? The Shift Network is partnering with them right now in a campaign to plant 1,000,000 trees. Check out the campaign and TreeSister's' efforts on deforestation at https://treesisters.org/fundraisers/the-shift-music-festival-visionaries-summit.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

What surprised you about the two produce lists? How will you use these lists for your grocery shopping? Have you used these lists before?

    Ruchi MehrotraDutta's avatar
    Ruchi MehrotraDutta 4/11/2022 8:48 PM
Not these lists exactly, but because Summer has already hit hard here, i try to have salads and fruits. Watermelon / cantaloupe for breakfast and oranges through the day for sure.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Climate & Ecosystems
Why is art an important way for you to express sustainability values?

    Ruchi MehrotraDutta's avatar
    Ruchi MehrotraDutta 4/11/2022 8:45 PM
I love pottering in my garden . Today I added fertilizer to my lemon and Pomegranate trees. The most beautiful art is when the flowers bloom . And the biggest appreciation is when I see nature in its vivid colours. I'm adding some pictures from my garden.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Climate & Ecosystems
What was the tastiest sustainable seafood meal you ever had or had recently? Did you make it? Can you share a recipe?

    Ruchi MehrotraDutta's avatar
    Ruchi MehrotraDutta 4/11/2022 8:40 PM
I had Prawn Malai Curry . Made with Coconut milk it's vegan and really delicious.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Economy & Communities
Would you consider using an induction cooking surface? If you have used one before, what do you like about induction cooking?

    Ruchi MehrotraDutta's avatar
    Ruchi MehrotraDutta 4/10/2022 11:01 PM
Induction cooking is much faster. I loved that.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Economy & Communities
How can you express your personality, creativity, and values in ways that don't require fast fashion or buying more clothes and accessories?

    Ruchi MehrotraDutta's avatar
    Ruchi MehrotraDutta 4/10/2022 11:00 PM
I've always used mix & match and worn clothes accordingly. I only wear cotton and by mix & match I need fewer new clothes. I don't wear too much jewellery. And I believe in few but good accessories.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Climate & Ecosystems
How can spending more time outdoors enhance your sense of place? Was there a new place in your region that was exciting to learn about and visit?

More importantly I think it's connecting with and realising the importance of Nature. And how plants sustain us by emitting Oxygen for us. It's very important to be near plants for me.
