REFLECTION QUESTIONBasic Needs & SecurityWhat is one way you will reduce your water use? What is a practice you already have that helps you reduce your water use?
Sarah Meade 4/29/2022 1:16 PMIts crazy learning about virtual water use and how shopping contributes to your water use -
Sarah Meade 4/19/2022 12:29 PMIt is so cool to learn about different ecochallenge related topics. I am thoroughly enjoying this opportunity! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBasic Needs & SecurityWhat watershed do you live in presently? What is something interesting or unique about your watershed?
Sarah Meade 4/19/2022 12:25 PMLearned about the South Platte river from the Earth Week speaker along with some of my own research. I live in Boulder which is in the St. Vrain River watershed but sits within the larger South Platte River basin. What I learned that is tied to the state as a whole is that we are headwaters state meaning the water that flows in the state is melts from the mountains within the state - aka all water is generated within the state and isn't flowing from other states into Colorado. Hawaii is the only other state like that (of course because it is an island state).-

REFLECTION QUESTIONEconomy & CommunitiesWhat are the climate and disaster risks in your region?
Sarah Meade 4/13/2022 3:50 PMFires, floods, extended drought that exacerbates those issues, water quality disasters like old mines flooding and bringing contaminants down, etc.
The fire concern has been a big one for me. I live right near Open Space and I have had to evacuate three times within one year! One year!!!! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBasic Needs & SecurityWhat surprised you about the two produce lists? How will you use these lists for your grocery shopping? Have you used these lists before?
Sarah Meade 4/13/2022 3:44 PMI had come across these lists in the past so it was a good reminder as I had forgotten about some. I will use this list to navigate grocery stores that may not always have organic produce so I can make compromises with the best information
