As we are on our final day of the Eco Challenge, I just like to say how much I enjoyed doing this challenge. It got me to go outside and relax. I challenged myself to eat at least one meatless meal a day without having lots of waste. I want to keep doing this challenge as long as I can, I will be able to incorporate these challenges as my daily life and it will no longer be a challenge. It will just be everyday life.

What are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time inside and on screens?

I believe spending inside most of the time can definitely detriment our mental health. When we are inside, we are not getting the exercise and fresh air we need. Even though we can supplement Vitamin D by taking vitamins but nothing beats being outside in the sun. Being in front of screens can also ruin our relationships. My husband and I love to have conversations with each other when we aren't on our phones. We have the best time just being with each other and taking the time to listen to one another. Having conversations and listening to our partners can makes us more compassionate people. Overall, I believe detrimental mental health is a big factor on an implication for a culture that spends time inside and on screens.

This week I took the challenge of having zero waste and cooking 2 meals a day. This week was a success, and I actually had a good time planning out our meals and eating good food. We had leftovers one day this week and will have more leftovers today for dinner. It was also great to be working on my garden as well. Today its overcast and chilly but it's great to feel some fresh air.

Hello Charisy, I love hearing that even when the. weather isn't the absolute best, you still get outside and enjoy the activities of working in your garden! I know in my future when I have a perminent residency I want to create a huge garden in my backyard! What are some vegetables or fruits that you grow in your garden?

Taking the time to be outside has made a huge difference for my mental health. I started my garden almost a month ago and being able to go outside every day to work on it has been uplifting. Gardening is my contribution to sustainability. Being able to grow my veggies and fruit is very rewarding.

      Hello Charisy,
I completely understand how taking time outside can create a huge difference in your moods and mental health! Being outside breathing in the fresh air and getting away from being trapped inside all day has been beneficial to myself as well! I hope you continue to being outside after the ecochallenge is over.
