Victor Ouellet Massicotte 4/20/2022 7:20 PMI am amazed to see how I already contributed to the Earth Month Ecochallenge! Prior to learning about this challenge, I was already completing 3 of the 5 goals I currently have selected. I would say that I most impressed by the fact that I have saved 400 gallons of water by taking very short showers and remaining conscious of how much water I use when brushing my teeth or doing dishes. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth & EquityHow have you reduced your purchasing habits and what would you like to do next to reduce your consumption habits?
Victor Ouellet Massicotte 4/20/2022 7:12 PMI found this app called Intent which is technically meant to track calories, but I use it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner ideas as it gives you the option of not tracking calories. I love it because it offers really good suggestions that I would not have thought of, and, most importantly, it takes into consideration the left over ingredients to find meals that incorporate them. It is very simple to use, it customizes the meals base on your preferences, and it has reduced by grocery spending by about 180$ a month!! All for free!! I hope someone else tries it! -
Victor Ouellet Massicotte 4/12/2022 10:58 AMToday I purchased reusable ziplocks to limit how many single use plastic containers I throw away. I was at safeway going down the aisle and they were sitting on the bottom shelf. I encourage people to do the same!-

REFLECTION QUESTIONEducation & LivelihoodHow does practicing a work-life balance create a more sustainable life for you? How might it contribute to sustainability more broadly?
Victor Ouellet Massicotte 4/10/2022 9:23 PMThe way I approach it is by taking time to make conversations with my neighbors when I walk my dog. I live in an apartment complex where I know some of the tenants in my building don't go out often so I instigate conversations with them. Another way is when I bring my dog out to the park, I take the time to throw away trash that is sitting by trashcans or I pick up the poop that others did not want to pick up. These small details help everyone! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBasic Needs & SecurityWhat is one way you will reduce your water use? What is a practice you already have that helps you reduce your water use?
Victor Ouellet Massicotte 4/10/2022 9:19 PMI used to take very warm showers which would prompt me to stay in for longer than necessary. So my trick is that I try to take mildly cold showers which incentivizes me to get out faster and to turn off the water when I am shampooing my hair or washing my body! Works quite well!-
