The United Nations have prepared 17 long-term goals we can work on with the aim of improving life on Earth. An interesting thing, let's open up the interest of why and how medical is linked to sustainability. For us, one example is the blood donation actions by which we contribute to the well being and health.

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health & Equity
Why is equity for gender diverse individuals important for a just and sustainable society?

Gender diversity brings in diverse views and ways of solving problems, innovations and progress,

For instance, women make up half of students in the life sciences, but only one in four professors, according to data from 500 scientific institutions worldwide.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health & Equity
What are some of the barriers that exist to women and girl's equitable participation or representation in your community? Do you experience these barriers?

30 minutes of moderate daily activity is recommended by the World Health Organisation (WHO) for good health. However, the WHO reports that 60% of the world’s population – the majority being women – fail to acheive this recommended exercise quota. Some cause might be the domestic tasks a monther is more involved in.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Economy & Communities
How might you be able to get others involved in advocating for the clean energy shift?

    Izabela Marmandiu's avatar
    Izabela Marmandiu 4/29/2022 9:26 PM
We can add our name to petitions and invite others to do the same, attend local meetings to voice the support for clean energy projects . Talk about it to neighbors and friends. Make climate-conscious choices.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

What is one invasive species in your region and how does it impact your region's ecosystem?

There is a fish, black  bullhead, in a lake near Cluj, Taga, that has a more  aggressive  behavior  than  many  indigenous  fish species  and  could
influence  local  populations.  This  presents  a  problem  for  natural  environments,  but  also  for fish farms .

What surprised you about the two produce lists? How will you use these lists for your grocery shopping? Have you used these lists before?

    Izabela Marmandiu's avatar
    Izabela Marmandiu 4/28/2022 10:28 PM
Yes, I used the lists, they help me to be organized with our food shopping.
4.5 million tones of food and drink that could have been eaten is thrown in the bin in our homes each year
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Climate & Ecosystems
What is one way you will reduce your carbon foorprint? What is a practice you already have that helps you reduce your carbon footprint?

Interesting to know that tweaking the way we shop, cook and eat can help reduce our individual CO2 impact too.
