Prem Mani 4/30/2022 8:00 AMThis Earth Month EcoChallenge 2022 was an amazing run during the month of April for me. Made me a more responsible person and also helped others follow it through. There are many simple and easy changes that one can do to help our Earth's environment remain useful to our future generation better than we got it, cleaner and greener. -
Prem Mani 4/28/2022 11:12 PMThe freshest air is available in our villages. Whenever I come over to my village, I am energized with freshness -
Prem Mani 4/28/2022 7:27 AMOPT FOR NO RECEIPTS: One thing I love about Whole Foods is that they always ask me if I want my receipt before printing. A lot of shops now have those tablets for running your credit card and they also give you the option to have a paperless receipt. Now whenever I purchase items, I always opt for no receipt, or if I need it, I have it emailed to me. -
Prem Mani 4/27/2022 6:15 AMI’ll be the first to admit that we could be better about recycling, but when we have to carry our trash down 3 flights of stairs and then out to the alley, sometimes it’s just easier to throw it all in the same bag. I do try to always recycle cardboard boxes though. I need to get better about glass, paper and aluminum—goals for this year. Junk mail is one thing that’s easy to recycle, but often overlooked! -
Prem Mani 4/25/2022 7:07 PMDon't waste food: If you have leftovers, don’t throw them away. Save them for your lunch or tea the next day, or even freeze them. However, if they do go off, use them to create compost for your garden. -
Prem Mani 4/24/2022 9:52 PMRecycle and reuse: Make sure you’re recycling by putting your rubbish in the correct bins. Also, try to reuse products and items as many times as possible before binning them to reduce waste.
Here’s a list of household items you would usually throw away but can be reused again and again.
1. Glass Jars, Containers, or Cans
2. Gallon Jugs, Plastic Soda Bottles, Takeout and Other Plastic Containers
3. Newspapers, Magazines, and Paper Bags
4. Clothes, Towels, and Bedding
5. Seeds
6. Laundry Waste (If you use them, don’t toss out those old dryer sheets! They make excellent dusting rags, especially for sucking up pet hair.)
7. Plastic Bags
8. Bathroom Items (Save old toothbrushes to scrub hard-to-reach places, like grout and underneath the fixtures on faucets.)
9. Broken Dishes (Collect broken china to re-tile outdoor tables, flower pots, paths, or as a unique border for your garden. Use broken china to make a key fob or jewelry. Plant small plants in old stained coffee mugs.)
10. Old Furniture (Refinish or repair rather than tossing old furniture. Re-purpose broken furniture or disassemble and reuse the wood. Hang drawers on the wall to create shelves, shadowboxes, or bulletin boards.) -
Prem Mani 4/24/2022 5:42 AMUse reusable alternatives: Single-use products, particularly plastic ones, tend to end up in landfills and the ocean, causing harm to wildlife and the environment. Prevent this by choosing to use reusable and eco-friendly alternatives instead.
Check out this list of eco-friendly alternatives for products you use every day for some ideas.

Prem Mani 4/22/2022 9:12 PMWere you able to plant a tree on Earth Day? I planted 5 trees yesterday. The experience was good. Three of them were the avocados that grew in my backyard garden in the city, I moved the saplings from the pot to the ground. -
Prem Mani 4/21/2022 8:59 PMToday is Earth Day, Every year on April 22, Earth Day is celebrated by 1 billion people in more than 193 countries. It marks the anniversary of the beginning of the modern environmental movement that started in 1970, but is also a day to show support for the Earth and raise awareness of environmental issues.
Take one initiative on this EARTH DAY 🌎, request each one of you to plant at-least one tree sapling/seed TODAY, and share your experience. -
