It was weird to consider but I appreciated my mind being used in this way. It’s hard to sit down and come up with a cohesive plan. i did not find other resources to share—but I do feel more prepared in this area
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Basic Needs & Security
What is one way you will reduce your water use? What is a practice you already have that helps you reduce your water use?

I will work to be more conscious of my water usage while cooking. i noticed i am fairly wasteful of water in the kitchen! i have started taking really short showers in order to limit my water usage.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Climate & Ecosystems
How can spending more time outdoors enhance your sense of place? Was there a new place in your region that was exciting to learn about and visit?

I went to the campus garden for the first time and it was really pleasant! It’s a beautiful little garden with lots of lovely people working there.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

What was it like to mend your clothing? If you are skilled at mending, what tips do you have for others?

I love mending clothing because it makes me appreciate the item more. I am not skilled but I enjoy it.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health & Equity
What are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time inside and on screens?

    Hanorah Lucas's avatar
    Hanorah Lucas 4/15/2022 7:22 AM
We fall out of touch with both one another and the environment. By spending all of our time focusing on screens, other people's digital lives, and never really making it a point to spend time outdoors, we are isolating ourselves into a small bubble that makes it more and more difficult to make deep-rooted connections.

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Education & Livelihood
What was it like to actively listen to someone? How did both people and the conversation benefit from active listening?

    Hanorah Lucas's avatar
    Hanorah Lucas 4/15/2022 7:21 AM
It's interesting to learn about other people's lives. Whether they have cultural differences from mine or not, it is always really intriguing to hear how someone else views the world. I like to think that they gain something from it as well.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Basic Needs & Security
With 5-minute or less showers reducing your water footprint, what do you plan to add next to your water conservation habits?

    Hanorah Lucas's avatar
    Hanorah Lucas 4/15/2022 7:20 AM
Being more aware of water usage during cleaning and other cosmetic habits. Washing your face makes it so easy to leave water run as you repeatedly rinse off the cleanser--and sometimes I leave the water run for a few moments too long. I want to improve this next.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Basic Needs & Security
What was the tastiest meatless or vegan meal you ever had or had recently? Did you make it? Can you share a recipe?

The best vegan meal I have ever had is one we make every big holiday. We make small stuffed portobello mushrooms and mushroom gravy. The mushrooms are stuffed with a vegan stuffing recipe that includes onions, sundried tomatoes, and spinach. They are often served together. I do not have a recipe--we always just wing it!
