What was it like to create a readiness plan? Did you find other resources you could share?

I currently live in East Campus here at CSUMB. I worked with my housemates to create a readiness plan and also talked to my RA. She discussed where the meeting area is for any major earthquakes for our court, and also the tsunami routes to take in our area. I previously took a geology course about Natural Disasters so I used the references provided from that course to create an emergency kit for my house. I also used the American Red Cross website for more detail: https://www.redcross.org/get-help/how-to-prepare-for-emergencies/survival-kit-supplies.html https://www.redcross.org/get-help/how-to-prepare-for-emergencies/survival-kit-supplies.html

I just answered this question too! The process is something I've always been interested in. I grew up in San Miguel where our church displayed the original damage caused by a huge earthquake in the early 2000s, so every Sunday I would see the consequences of it and it was really frightening as a kid but I think it helps to have grown up knowing the dangers.

What was the tastiest meatless or vegan meal you ever had or had recently? Did you make it? Can you share a recipe?

I made spring rolls!!! My dad was born in Vietnam so I grew up making spring rolls for dinner. Today I decided to make some and instead of using shrimp like I usually do, I used fried tofu. I included vermicelli noodles, lettuce, cucumber, cilantro, and carrots. I also made some peanut sauce for dipping. The recipe for the spring rolls are quite easy and theres many online. However if you want to know my recipe for peanut sauce it is:
2 tbs of peanut butter (smooth or crunchy)
    2 tbs of hoison sauce
1 tbs of sriracha (more if you like spice)
    2 tbs of water

I usually just wing jt for the measurements and go off of taste. If it tastes too much like peanut butter, add more hoison sauce and vice versa. Also, if it is too thick, just keep adding water.

I hope you get to try it!!!!

Thank you for the recipe! My boyfriend loves cooking but we haven't really found a vegan meal that we like and would use more than once. I'm going to share this recipe and see if we can buy everything we need at our Asian market in Marina.

What was surprising about the ingredients in your cleaning supplies, personal care, and pet products?

I use an app that helps to show what the ingredients are in my products and what types of harm they cause to my body and to the environment. I've been starting with my skincare products and oh my!!!! There is so much green-washing and companies saying they are "clean" but the ingredients say otherwise. It made me feel like I was still uneducated about the products I buy and use.

I forgot to post yesterday's, but on 4/5/22, I ate 3 meatless meals and one of those meals were vegan. Previously, I have always tried to eat more of a plant-based diet but I do eat seafood often. I've never gone an entire month with completely meatless and vegan meals and this first day went really well. I ate a breakfast sandwich that was meatless and dairy free, then for lunch I ate vegetarian sushi which was so good! For dinner I just ate a small snack from Trader Joe's that are just Kale Chips. I completely forgot to take photos but I am today!
