What was it like to practice mindfulness? If this is a practice for you already, what was something new you understood in practicing during Earth Month?

Although I have been attempting to practice mindfulness for years, only last month did I start a regimented routine with the guidance of SERENITY (https://serenitymeditations.co.uk/), a guided meditation course with over 80 free unlockable daily "lessons" to work through. This is how I prepare my mind for bed every night--I'm asleep in 10 minutes!

Awesome! Creating habits that support your goals is terrific! Have you heard of Habit Stacking? One of the best ways to build a new habit is to identify a current habit you already do each day and then stack your new behavior on top. This is called habit stacking. I love the book Atomic Habits by Bexley Resident James Clear. Check it out!

Amazing! This must be a wonderful feeling, especially if you can be mindful throughout the day and not just at night.

With 5-minute or less showers reducing your water footprint, what do you plan to add next to your water conservation habits?

In stead of dumping unfinished water glasses down the sink, use them to water plants or refill the dog dish.

How can spending more time outdoors enhance your sense of place? Was there a new place in your region that was exciting to learn about and visit?

The time I spent outdoors was actually in my own yard, but I discovered new plant life! It's called Woodland Stonecrop, and it apparently does really well in this climate. I cleared some weeds and debris from the area, hoping it will spread. Not only was this discovery uplifting, but the 3 hours of sunlight and earthy grounding was greatly appreciated and overdue for my sense of well-being.
