  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Education & Livelihood
Do you think many people flooding their inbox will get the STM's attention? How did you feel expressing your dissatisfaction?

I don't even take this bus and I know it's a problem, but I feel good being able to lend my voice to my fellow students. Personally I hate a crowded inbox so hopefully it will slightly annoy them, but it will also prevent them from seeing other messages. At least now the STM will know that this is a problem and they should find a solution (more buses or new routes).

What was a linking factor across this group of SDGs?

The idea of equal opportunity for all.

I absolutely love rainy days!! I get to wear my sunflower rainboots and it makes me feel so happy. However I'm not a big fan of being soaked cold to the bone... so my walk was cut short today lol

What one thing will you do right away to reduce your waste? What is the second thing you will do?

Oof my goodness this daily action is a challenge, but in the past seven days I noticed that most of my trash comes from my lunches that I  purchase at school. The first thing I've done to reduce my waste is make lunches at home. The second thing I intend to do is make my own snacks to reduce the waste from my homemade lunches. It seems like I'm caught in a never ending loop of trash but these are some steps I can take to make that loop smaller :)

What did you learn? Were you surprised?

I learned that mycelium can be used to replace styrofoam in packaging products. It made so much sense and I was surprised that it is a solution that isn't talked about often. It was an amazing presentation which unfortunately I could not stay to listen to it all. Thank you Shireef!

I thought the exact same thing!  Such a sustainable option and solution to the plastic packaging problem :)

Spent a gorgeous weekend in Keene Valley visiting the Adirondacks with my Mountain Hiking and Camping Gym class. It truly made me appreciate all the little things my body does for me: keep me warm, makes food taste amazing, it can climb a freaking mountain.  Not to mention the fresh air and amazing views in nature. It was an amazing experience and I'm already dying to go back, but I am definitely grateful for my local hiking trails. I would highly recommend any outdoor activity (hiking) as a form of exercise, not only are you taking care of your health but also getting to find comfort in nature.
