REFLECTION QUESTIONBasic Needs & SecurityWhat is one way you will reduce your water use? What is a practice you already have that helps you reduce your water use?
Amanda Ketchum 4/21/2022 5:35 AMI will reduce my meat consumption and continue to add more fruits and vegetables into my diet. I will also be me conscious of how much gas I am consuming to reduce my footprint there. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBasic Needs & SecurityHow did you incorporate using an entire vegetable (skins, peels, tops, and stalks) during one of your meal preps? What's something new you're going to try that is a zero-waste meal practice?
Amanda Ketchum 4/21/2022 5:25 AMI like to save the part of the veggies that most people don't consume and freeze them to make vegetable broth later. Also, many of the stalks of herbs actually are very flavorful and can be used in a dish. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth & EquityWhat was it like to practice mindfulness? If this is a practice for you already, what was something new you understood in practicing during Earth Month?
Amanda Ketchum 4/21/2022 5:23 AMBreaking the habit of always having some sort of entertainment on for consumption. Putting down my phone, not turning on a show in the evenings or having music or NPR streaming. I quickly realized how much I need periods of time to just be without any mindless distractions. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONClimate & EcosystemsWhat plastic or single-use items do you regularly use? What did you substitute or could be substituted?
Amanda Ketchum 4/11/2022 11:01 AMI frequently use Keurig KCups and have converted over to reusable kcup filters for my morning coffee. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBasic Needs & SecurityWhat surprised you about the two produce lists? How will you use these lists for your grocery shopping? Have you used these lists before?
Amanda Ketchum 4/11/2022 8:59 AMI have seen the dirty dozen list before and because of it always buy certain items organic like celery and lettuce/greens. I will continue to use these list to make informed choices about the produce I purchase and what unintentional chemicals I may be adding to my diet. -
