  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Climate & Ecosystems
What ecological or xeriscape landscaping practices do you have? How has your landscape changed from these practices?

I already have a number of these practices. But for this eco-challenge, I did a bunch of weeding and piled the weeds in thick layers over all the bare soil to act as mulch. This both gave my weeds a place to go and kept the soil covered. I like it because it's quick and easy and so i'm more likely to do it.

Would you consider using an induction cooking surface? If you have used one before, what do you like about induction cooking?

I never heard about this before and find it really interesting! However, I'm concerned about the levels of emf radiation from this type of cooking, especially since I spend a lot of time cooking and having burners on.

My research in this left me with more questions than answers, but I remain fascinated as well. I was thinking you'd really have to have your mise en place game together since the cooking time is so drastically reduced. I'm a 'cut the veggies while the onions simmer' kind of cook.
