Chris Kasic 4/27/2022 4:55 AMThanks to those who attended the Alt/Sustainable Commuting seminar yesterday; you can complete the action I provided. The slides will be available on the Cycling Club website, and stay tuned to see if your commitments earn you a prize! -
Chris Kasic 4/22/2022 8:19 AMWe are all here on so called "Earth Day" thanks to the actions of many, including John McConnell, Morton Hilbert, Gaylord Nelson, and Denis Hayes. No doubt many others worldwide. Not your average household names or enshrined in fame, but look at what they wrought! Do likewise. -
Chris Kasic 4/21/2022 12:43 PMEmerson Earth Week Cleanup in Eden Prairie was a success: 17 volunteers over two days collected 17 bags of trash. Bringin' the Eden back to Eden Prairie Minnesota! Time to log in to ecochallenge and complete those actions. We are still trailing Chanhassen and Shakopee!-

Chris Kasic 4/19/2022 12:03 PMThe Emerson Green Team EP and ecochallenge members took time over lunch to collect debris on the east side of the Eden Prairie campus. Collected 5 garbage bags! See Laura's email to sign up for Thursday April 21. Weather looks good. Facilities supplies us. We still have the west side to go. Join us. -
Chris Kasic 4/15/2022 11:38 AMA recent news segment from ScienceFriday comments on the recent change in allowing E15 (Ethanol boosted gasoline) this summer. Although it may help manage pump prices, and help the Iowa economy, the blend is less friendly to the atmosphere, and the resulting increase in production, if fueled with non-renewable energy sources at the ethanol plant, could actually result in a net increase in CO2. https://arstechnica.com/cars/2022/04/who-cares-about-climate-change-biden-brings-back-e15-gas/. -
Chris Kasic 4/14/2022 1:13 PMWelcome to any new team members. We're currently 21st in the challenge out of 61 Emerson teams, but still behind Chan and Shakopee. Time to start reading and completing actions from our dashboard. Be sure to tune into Mike Train's webcasts next week. I've also sent a local link to the EP team with an interesting article that definitely crosses the Emerson market space. Enjoy! -
Chris Kasic 4/11/2022 7:47 AMWith the weather turning better, it's time to get out of the solo-car commute. Try that cycle commute into work. Too far away? Try driving to a park and ride and biking in or putting the bike on the bus. Or even just transporting your bike and parking a mile away from work and finding the bike trail in. Or maybe it's time to investigate sharing a commute with a colleague or checking out a vanpool. -
Chris Kasic 4/06/2022 5:45 AMWelcome to those who have joined us since April 1. Explore the dashboard and actions you can take to educate yourself on sustainability. For those who like competitions, you'll see the Shakopee and Chan teams have challenged us, and we need to to move our sustainability dial! I'll send a separate email to the team with additional reading that you can easily do over lunch. As always, just email me if you'd rather not receive weekly emails through April. -
Chris Kasic 4/04/2022 11:33 AMThe Emerson Sustainability team in St. Louis has created a Sustainability training module: Introduction to Key Concepts and Terminology. If you're having trouble linking to it from your Ecochallenge dashboard actions, Access your Learning Center homepage directly, then search for "10951".
