I had a vegan donut this morning!  Who said vegan food had to be healthy...?
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Education & Livelihood
What was it like to actively listen to someone? How did both people and the conversation benefit from active listening?

actively listening is freeing because i'm not trying to 'solve' anything - just letting someone express themselves
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Climate & Ecosystems
What ecological or xeriscape landscaping practices do you have? How has your landscape changed from these practices?

Stocked up on locally sourced, organic potting soil and compost.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

With 5-minute or less showers reducing your water footprint, what do you plan to add next to your water conservation habits?

    Julie Jones's avatar
    Julie Jones 4/22/2022 6:53 AM
using 'leftover' water for plants rather than pouring down the sink.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Basic Needs & Security
What surprised you about the two produce lists? How will you use these lists for your grocery shopping? Have you used these lists before?

    Julie Jones 4/19/2022 11:59 AM
Surprising - I was excited to see a number of foods I regularly buy/eat on the clean 15 list.  I only buy organic for those items on the dirty dozen list - and I am fortunate to be able to find and afford the organic options.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

  • REFLECTION QUESTION

What was it like to practice mindfulness? If this is a practice for you already, what was something new you understood in practicing during Earth Month?

    Julie Jones 4/15/2022 11:35 AM
when i practice mindfulness, it helps reduce anxiety and be present more often
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

    Julie Jones's avatar
    Julie Jones 4/14/2022 12:30 PM
being removed from nature impacts my mental well-being - i have to take a trip to 'the country' at least once a quarter or i get anxious and depressed.

I've found I need to go further. I find small bits of nature, even in the city, and that makes a difference.
