What was it like to mend your clothing? If you are skilled at mending, what tips do you have for others?

    Ann Jones's avatar
    Ann Jones 4/28/2022 6:34 PM
I have always mended my clothing, my mother mended my clothing.  I recommend mending as soon as you notice something needs mending. Don’t wait until it gets too large

I learned a lot about electricity and several alternatives. I am going to do some research to see if I can cut back on my electricity usage.

It's an initial expense, but they've got some pretty cool tools these days for tracking one's energy use at home...it's interesting to see one's numbers change - drastically in some cases - as you see where your energy hogs are.  https://www.energysage.com/energy-products/energy-monitors/

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Climate & Ecosystems
What is one invasive species in your region and how does it impact your region's ecosystem?

    Ann Jones's avatar
    Ann Jones 4/25/2022 9:25 PM
I was surprised to learn how easy it is for invasive species to get to different areas and how much harm they can actually do. This is a very interesting topic and I am going to research into it more
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Climate & Ecosystems
Why is it important to take care of pollinators? Do you have a favorite pollinator?

    Ann Jones's avatar
    Ann Jones 4/24/2022 10:20 PM
Pollinators sustain our ecosystems and produce our natural resources by helping plants reproduce.  We need a variety of pollinators. I plan on using these lists when I pick out my plants this season
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Basic Needs & Security
What surprised you about the two produce lists? How will you use these lists for your grocery shopping? Have you used these lists before?

    Ann Jones's avatar
    Ann Jones 4/23/2022 9:09 AM
I’ve never used these lists before but I definitely am going to use them now I was very surprised about the dirty list and will be avoiding those products in the future. I was pleasantly surprised by the clean list because a lot of the items included there are foods that I eat. Very informative
