Something I've never done, volunteer taking of farm animals. I think it's important to know more about the animals that end up on our plate!

James Jeon 4/21/2022 7:30 PMI just read a very interesting article about how menstrual cycles can affect women in the workplace. I hope as a society we can be accommodating about it, especially in a company/work environment. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBasic Needs & SecurityWhat was one of your most memorable volunteer experiences, and why? What would you like to volunteer for next, and why?
James Jeon 4/17/2022 3:16 PMIt's nice to hear a sincere thank you. I feel like "thank you" is one of those words that have been over used and said without any feelings behind it. As a volunteer, hearing thank you's or bless you has been one of my most memorable experiences.
Something I've never done, volunteer taking of farm animals. I think it's important to know more about the animals that end up on our plate! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONClimate & EcosystemsWhat plastic or single-use items do you regularly use? What did you substitute or could be substituted?
James Jeon 4/12/2022 10:53 AMI notice that most single use plastics are produced when I go out and eat. I'll make it habit to remember to bring my reusable utensils and to opt out of small plastic salsa, sauce, ketchup cups. I'll remember to always ask if they can provide condiments on the side without the plastic. I will look for a petition and support legislation limiting single use plastics in my city. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth & EquityWhat are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time inside and on screens?
James Jeon 4/08/2022 8:32 AMI believe when we spend most of our time inside and on screens, we may lose our sense to connect with one another. Be outside forces us to move around and be physically active. I also believe spending to much time inside and on screens can negatively affect our mental health. It's important to appreciate our physical health by going outside and appreciating nature, even the little bit we can find in our urban cities/suburbs. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEducation & LivelihoodWhat place in your region are you most excited to visit during your staycation?
James Jeon 4/04/2022 11:07 AMI just visited a state park in S.D. From this experience and past travel experiences, I am realizing more and more than you don't need to travel far to have fun. Wherever you are or traveling to place nearby, can bring about the same sense of travel from going far distances. Over the years, I am not able to justify traveling a far distance for just a small fraction of time because the environment is truly affected by it. Enjoy where you are, Enjoy what you have. Reserve travelling far for the best of times.-
