Research Impact Investing
SDG #8 Work & Economy
Using the links provided below, I will research impact investing or my current investment portfolio to determine if they align with my values.
Health & Equity
Reducing Waste In my Home.
I am going to take the old leftovers from my refrigerator each week and place it in a compost area for natural fertilizer for the garden box I want to build to grow fresh herbs and veggies.
Health & Equity
Practice Mindfulness
SDG #3 Health & Well-Being
I will spend 30 minutes each day practicing mindfulness.
Climate & Ecosystems
Plant a tree
Self explanatory. Plant a tree, and take a photo of it. The goal: More trees. Why did I chose it? Because I just did it, and whew...not easy work!
Health & Equity
Track My Purchases
SDG #10 Reduced Inequalities
Throughout the day I will track my purchases and then research the companies making these goods.
Health & Equity
Spend Time Outside
SDG #3 Health & Well-Being
I will replace 30 minute(s) per day typically spent inside (computer time, watching television, etc.) with quality time outside exercising, enjoying the sunrise/sunset, gardening, journaling, or practicing gratitude for nature.

REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth & Equity Practice MindfulnessWhat was it like to practice mindfulness? If this is a practice for you already, what was something new you understood in practicing during Earth Month?
Sandra Holtry 4/30/2022 1:56 PMI am always mindful of my surroundings...but I have been even more mindful of my usage of my surroundings now. -
Sandra Holtry 4/30/2022 1:32 PMMy son and I are learning about plant and things in our yard and around our community that are not weeds. And actually eat able.

Sandra Holtry 4/30/2022 1:18 PMI am glad that I am learning more ways to live simply and waste less. -
Sandra Holtry 4/06/2022 3:10 PMI joined this challenge because I have never really done one. Plus I want to make a difference in my well-being and community. I am choosing to reduce waste in my home, and it's going, to begin with, starting a compost area in my yard, that we can use to naturally fertilize the garden I have wanted.
