What was one nonprofit organization that was exciting to learn about?
Climate Cent is a nonprofit organization in Los Angeles to become more sustainable. This was an organization that I wanted to learn more about because I was born and raised in LA so I wanted to see some of the issues with climate change in my community. The organization does things like volunteer work and focuses on dealing with this issue at the legislative level.
My goals are going well and I have developed a lot of crucial skills throughout this challenge. I've felt that the goals that I have set this month were accomplished and I felt that I have become more sustainable throughout doing these weekly activities.
Art is a form of way to express values and highlights the impacts that are going on on our planet. It is important to showcase some of the issues in regard to our sustainability values.
I felt that I did a lot of things outside the eco-challenge like not using my car during the week and eating less meat on a daily basis. My car actually stopped turning on at a certain point in the challenge because the battery was dead due to me not using the car. I used to always have some sort of protein with every meal but during this challenge, I felt that eating less meat and not using my car on weekdays was a big contribution and will be a change in my lifestyle now.
How did you incorporate using an entire vegetable (skins, peels, tops, and stalks) during one of your meal preps? What's something new you're going to try that is a zero-waste meal practice?
Climate change is something I'm passionate about helping and would love to contribute to the fight for climate change. This is a way that I can help contribute to the fight for climate change and is a way to do what's right.
