REFLECTION QUESTIONBasic Needs & SecurityWhat was a linking factor across this group of SDGs?
Bridgid Hein 4/30/2022 9:27 AMThe statistics around hunger in the world are unsettling. This is leading me to think more about ways to help in my own local and larger communities. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBasic Needs & SecurityWhat is one way you will reduce your water use? What is a practice you already have that helps you reduce your water use?
Bridgid Hein 4/29/2022 6:04 AMI was surprised that my indoor water footprint is low but my virtual water footprint is high. So in order to reduce my water use I have to address this by eating less meat and shopping less. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEconomy & CommunitiesWhat was it like to mend your clothing? If you are skilled at mending, what tips do you have for others?
Bridgid Hein 4/29/2022 5:56 AMSince my children always put holes in the knees of their pants, I got a bunch of patches to fix them easily. Mended one pair so far an it was very easy. Since it's just the knees that need to be fixed, by fixing them they don't need to be replaced and it cuts down on our waste. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONClimate & EcosystemsWhat is one way you will reduce your carbon foorprint? What is a practice you already have that helps you reduce your carbon footprint?
Bridgid Hein 4/10/2022 4:43 PMOne way I will reduce my carbon footprint is by eating more plant based meals. I need to look into ways to make this possible for our family. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth & EquityHow is food equity and access linked to a sustainable future?
Bridgid Hein 4/10/2022 8:35 AMIt was interesting to learn about the difference between using the term "food desert" and "food apartheid". The article in the resources included links for a different area. It was easy to find more local organizations by searching for "food sovereignty organizations in NY". -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth & EquityWhat was a linking factor across this group of SDGs?
Bridgid Hein 4/01/2022 5:32 PMLooking at SDGs #3, 5, 10, & 16, more than the others I’ve learned about so far, drove home the interconnectedness of the whole world as one global community. I think it was because of the statistics related to children. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEducation & LivelihoodWhat was a linking factor across this group of SDGs?
Bridgid Hein 4/01/2022 5:18 PMOne link between SDGs #4, 8, 11, and 17 seems to be the major impact on the achievement of these goals. Even though progress was slow or had slowed before the pandemic, Covid-19 has made everything much worse. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONClimate & EcosystemsWhat was a linking factor across this group of SDGs?
Bridgid Hein 4/01/2022 4:53 PMOne link between SDGs #13, 14, & 15 seems to be the urgent need for action. Despite this, the laws and actions that have been taken seem like just a drop in the bucket. More needs to be done. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEconomy & CommunitiesWhat was a linking factor across this group of SDGs?
Bridgid Hein 4/01/2022 4:39 PMA linking factor across SDGs 7, 9, and 12 was a need for innovation and reduction of waste. -
Bridgid Hein 4/01/2022 4:14 PMDay One Daily Actions Completed! I'm excited to practice being more mindful about waste. The mindfulness and outside time were just nice today.
