I will do one or more of the following actions in my yard, or volunteer in my community: plant indigenous plants, landscape with water-efficient plants, add mulching, replace a lawn, and/or use eco-friendly fertilizers.

On 4/18 I hiked Pochuk Mountain State Forest in Warwick, NY and collected glass, plastic, aluminum bottles that had been littered on the trail. It is one of my local hiking paths that I love with beautiful scenic views of one of the most fertile agricultural lands in the country; the Black Dirt region of New York. Pochuk is also Lenape for "out-of-the-way-place" which I felt was appropriate for the deliberate act for facing climate challenges directly.

Each day, I will spend 30 minutes exploring a new area around my neighborhood (e.g., park, water body, nearby trail, community garden, green space, etc.).

I will call my elected officials to express my thanks for their work, or to advocate for more environmental action in both policy and practice.
