REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth & EquityWhy is it important to honor native and indigenous peoples and cultures? What have you learned that is important to you? If you identify with or are a member of an indigenous group, how does your community practice sustainability?
Jana Fryman 4/21/2022 9:40 AMI'm 50% through Nishga by Jordan Abel, which details his experience as a Nishga'a who was not raised within the community and the impact the residential schools in Canada had in creating generational trauma. It's an eye-opening, raw account of his experience and I've researched the lands of the people on which I reside. I'm talking to my children about it as well. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEducation & LivelihoodAfter learning more about investing, how can you increase positive impacts and decrease negative impacts?
Jana Fryman 4/18/2022 4:49 PMI met with my financial advisor and we talked about where my investments are going. Some are not going to social-justice/aware investments, while others are. She was great at explaining where and how investments work. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEconomy & CommunitiesWhat was it like to create a readiness plan? Did you find other resources you could share?
Jana Fryman 4/18/2022 4:47 PMThis was something we've been talking about as a family since our recent move. It was great to find a location, talk through with everyone what the plan would be depending on the need (i.e. nature vs. manmade, etc) and putting the supplies in place.
