REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth & EquityWhat was it like to practice mindfulness? If this is a practice for you already, what was something new you understood in practicing during Earth Month?
Andrea Foster 4/07/2022 4:36 AMMindful this morning was like a recalibration. I sat and looked into the ocean and breathed. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEconomy & CommunitiesWhat are the climate and disaster risks in your region?
Andrea Foster 4/06/2022 5:13 AMI am in Panama City beach and there are Tornado Watches. I learned the difference between a watch and warning and apparently my teenagers found my confusion hilarious. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth & EquityWhat are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time inside and on screens?
Andrea Foster 4/06/2022 5:10 AMStaying inside on a screen, in my opinion, desensitizes your senses. I’m here in Panama City Beach and as I sit still I notice my senses are so much more heightened. I could smell the rain and the sound of the ocean was like in high def! (And I have a slight hearing deficit). I felt like I could taste the salt of the ocean and my eyes seemed better focused as I looked into the horizon. The believe I’d taken for granted how wet sand feels as you build a sand castle. Priceless! -
Andrea Foster 4/02/2022 9:08 AMMy goals are going well. It really helped that I started while I’m on PTO in Orlando. I’m enjoying family time and have time to spend some time alone in my thoughts and mindfulness. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth & EquityWhat is easy for you to do when having a constructive conversation and what is challenging? What tips do you have for having a constructive conversation?
Andrea Foster 4/02/2022 9:06 AMIt is easy for me to actively listen. The challenge is to not respond when the feedback is inaccurate. I’m working on just responding with, “thank you”. -
