Pamela Terlizzi 4/04/2022 11:08 AMThe Knotweed grows along a walking path in my neighborhood. Once I learned what it was I was shocked to notice how fast it grew. I walk the path a few times a week and notice the change in growth. A lesson in action.

REFLECTION QUESTIONClimate & EcosystemsWhat is one invasive species in your region and how does it impact your region's ecosystem?
Alynda Foreman 4/04/2022 8:02 AMJapanese knotweed - not loved by bees and chokes out native vegetation and is a new allergen for me! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONClimate & EcosystemsWhy is it important to take care of pollinators? Do you have a favorite pollinator?
-
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth & EquityWhat was surprising about the ingredients in your cleaning supplies, personal care, and pet products?
Alynda Foreman 4/01/2022 8:59 AMI compared my "natural" shampoo label with my husbands brand and was surprised at how many more unrecognizable and completely different ingredients were in his than mine. I think the fewer ingredients the better. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth & EquityWhat was it like to practice mindfulness? If this is a practice for you already, what was something new you understood in practicing during Earth Month?
Alynda Foreman 4/01/2022 8:49 AMHard at first to get settled - thinking I will need to try "starting" on a weekend or evening when the thought of calls/emails aren't distracting me...then I can gage my time better for workday efforts in mindfulness. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONClimate & EcosystemsWhat plastic or single-use items do you regularly use? What did you substitute or could be substituted?
Alynda Foreman 4/01/2022 8:42 AMI used to buy my lettuce in large plastic bins, but now I make the effort to buy it unpackaged at the local farmers market and bring it home in my own reusable bag. Once my garden is up and running, I will not even need to leave my yard to get lettuce! I also ended up using the discarded plastic bins (from my own purchasing and also collected from neighbors) as tiny greenhouses for my veggie garden seedlings.
