Ben Brannigan 4/29/2022 7:58 AMThis challenge has been so fun...and so...CHALLENGING hah! I've really appreciated all that this has brought to the front of my mind and I hope to carry it and continue to build upon it moving forward! Thanks for doing this, Wyld! -
Ben Brannigan 4/26/2022 10:18 AMI'm loving this challenge for sharpening my focus on how much time I spend outdoors. Working from home for so long got me used to NOT being outside. I've spent so much more time outdoors this month than I have over the last year and I'm loving it! More outside time!-

Ben Brannigan 4/25/2022 9:04 AMWhat a BEAUTIFUL weekend in Oregon!! Hope everyone had the chance to enjoy the weather! We took a walk along the Clackamas river with our doggo and one of her furry friends - the water will be warm enough to swim soon! I personally can't wait. River season is my favorite season! Bring it on! -
Ben Brannigan 4/22/2022 2:01 PMI'm sad to see this challenge month end and am hoping to be able to confidently carry over the tools I've gained beyond this month and I always always hope that I can continue to unlearn and learn more every day! -
Ben Brannigan 4/20/2022 10:38 AMStill feeling challenged by reducing my food waste (packaging primarily) - we have many houseless neighbors that we routinely give hot meals or dry goods to but I'm still filling the trash and recycling when I cook. Going to take a real good look at my shopping lists and figure out where I can kick packaging to the curb! -
Ben Brannigan 4/19/2022 9:46 AMThis challenge is showing me how much more effort I can put into the waste I generate (specifically packing for food & beverages). I'd love to hear how other folx are attacking this in their lives! -
Ben Brannigan 4/15/2022 8:46 AMSaving water so far has been the most accessible of my goals and I'm really loving seeing this spread through my family and watching them start to approach their relationship to water usage differently! -
Ben Brannigan 4/07/2022 3:00 PMSo far the ecochallenge has been great! I am finding the easiest adjustments to make are the ones around water - taking shorter showers, leaving the water off when I brush my teeth or am putting soap on my hands, letting it mellow, etc. NOW, the big challenge will be dragging the kids to the river instead of encouraging them to play with the hose/sprinklers at home. Talk about a waste of water! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBasic Needs & SecurityHow did you incorporate using an entire vegetable (skins, peels, tops, and stalks) during one of your meal preps? What's something new you're going to try that is a zero-waste meal practice?
Ben Brannigan 4/07/2022 2:58 PMI will use skins, peels, and tops of veggies to make broth for soups (or as a replacement for oil in stir fry! just fill an ice cube tray with broth and melt one cube in your pan instead of using oil) I want to try using my citrus peels to make home made cleaners next! I know it's not cooking with them, but I compost the peels after! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEducation & LivelihoodWhat place in your region are you most excited to visit during your staycation?
Ben Brannigan 4/06/2022 9:45 AMI am most excited to explore more local camping spots this spring and summer! I know there is so much close by, but I haven't checked nearly enough of it out!
