What is one invasive species in your region and how does it impact your region's ecosystem?

The Callery Pear tree will no longer be sold in Ohio effective 2023 as a decorative tree because no local insects feed on them which allows them to overtake areas.  I say good riddance, the blooms are pretty but they smell terrible!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Climate & Ecosystems
Why is it important to take care of pollinators? Do you have a favorite pollinator?

My favorite pollinator would have to be the bumble bee, the teddy bears of the bee world!  I did not know they hibernate underground in the winter and feed as early as February.  I will add early blooming flowers to my beds this year such as Columbine to ensure they have a food source earlier in the year.
