Annie's actions
Climate & Ecosystems
Reduce Single-Use Plastics
SDG #14 & 15
Throughout the day, I will note the single-use plastics I use and consider the reusable options available to me.
Health & Equity
Practice Mindfulness
SDG #3 Health & Well-Being
I will spend 5 minutes each day practicing mindfulness.
Climate & Ecosystems
Become a carbon-neutral house
We already have solar on our house and would like to decrease the presence of fossil fuel and natural gas in our home. We have plans to move to heat pumps for water and HVAC, induction for cooking, and have an electric vehicle on order.
Climate & Ecosystems
Ecological & Xeriscape Gardening
SDG #14 & 15
I will do one or more of the following actions in my yard, or volunteer in my community: plant indigenous plants, landscape with water-efficient plants, add mulching, replace a lawn, and/or use eco-friendly fertilizers.
Basic Needs & Security
Take 5-Minute Or Less Showers
SDG #6 Water & Sanitation
I will save up to 6 gallons (23 L) of water each day by taking 5-minute showers. Tip: Use a timer to practice or count to 60 a few times.

REFLECTION QUESTIONClimate & EcosystemsWhat plastic or single-use items do you regularly use? What did you substitute or could be substituted?
Annie Christiansen (she/her) 4/11/2022 8:20 AMI've found we don't actually use many single use plastics in our house, which was a nice surprise. Instead, I will encourage my family members to avoid the single-use produce bags at the grocery store - I already avoid these and it makes no difference to the state of the groceries when I unpack them at home
