REFLECTION QUESTIONBasic Needs & SecurityDid you feel a shift or change in how you think about food as a result of this action?
Jane Canada 4/05/2022 1:22 PMI have been vegetarian for the last 6 years. It's made me think more about what I eat and think about the impacts of the food industry. It's a great choice for both my personal health and doing something daily that makes a positive impact on the environment. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONClimate & EcosystemsWhat ecological or xeriscape landscaping practices do you have? How has your landscape changed from these practices?
Jane Canada 4/04/2022 5:03 AMMy husband and I removed the grass from most of our property and added back shade loving native plants. This new garden requires little to know watering and almost no need for pesticides or other chemicals typically used on lawns. We have plans to remove the rest of our grass this year and plant 2 more trees on our little 1/4 acre lot. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBasic Needs & SecurityHow did you incorporate using an entire vegetable (skins, peels, tops, and stalks) during one of your meal preps? What's something new you're going to try that is a zero-waste meal practice?
Jane Canada 4/04/2022 4:58 AMI made a vegan curry on Sunday with all fresh vegetables. I did peel the sweet potato and the thickest part of the kale, but overall I would consider this meal low waste. I will be eating leftovers for lunch and dinner today so all of it will go to good use.
