REFLECTION QUESTIONBasic Needs & SecurityWhat is one way you will reduce your water use? What is a practice you already have that helps you reduce your water use?
Tieler Brown 4/26/2022 4:50 PMWhen I calculated it, my water usage per day is 1,200 gallons. The website explained that 1,802 gallons of water per day was average for people in the US. I will reduce my water consumption by reducing my shower time. Eating vegan is a practice I already use to save water. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEducation & LivelihoodWhat was it like to actively listen to someone? How did both people and the conversation benefit from active listening?
Tieler Brown 4/25/2022 4:58 PMI enjoy active listening. It definitely takes more effort than a regular conversation, but it allows me to be able to fully process what someone is saying to me. It also makes the other person feel really heard. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBasic Needs & SecurityWhat surprised you about the two produce lists? How will you use these lists for your grocery shopping? Have you used these lists before?
Tieler Brown 4/25/2022 4:52 PMI was really surprised that so many products I buy consistently are part of the clean 15, so I don't have to worry about buying organic always. Things like avocados, onions, sweet potatoes, and mushrooms are all clean. I was not surprised to see that the dirty dozen was mostly fruit and berries. I will definitely alter what I buy organic based on this list. I have not read them before but I am glad to know about them now. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBasic Needs & SecurityWith 5-minute or less showers reducing your water footprint, what do you plan to add next to your water conservation habits?
Tieler Brown 4/20/2022 9:45 PMI have limited almost all of my showers down to 5-minutes or less and it has helped me realize what I usually am wasting my water or time on. I sometimes spend up to ten minutes or more just getting warm and taking a break from my busy day. I have decided to give myself breaks during the day when I need them instead of wasting the water. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEconomy & CommunitiesWhat was it like to create a readiness plan? Did you find other resources you could share?
Tieler Brown 4/20/2022 9:39 PMI have been taking lots of classes discussing natural disasters and climate change recently. Creating a readiness plan has been on my mind a lot recently and I finally found the time to commit to creating one this past weekend. I have even started sifting through my bag of donation items to find things that will work well in emergency preparedness bags. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONClimate & EcosystemsWhat plastic or single-use items do you regularly use? What did you substitute or could be substituted?
Tieler Brown 4/20/2022 9:36 PMI use the most single-use plastic in the kitchen. I decided to look into eco-bricks for the plastic that I can't avoid, and also actively look for items with less or no plastic packaging.
